Everywhere I turn this season, my eye seems to catch something sparkly. When it's as cold as it has been at night, I just want to sit by the fireplace with my favorite movie and eat something a bit hearty.  I knew that Bolognese pasta is one of my husband's favorites, so I decided to whip this up for him last night.

{ Wine Wednesday } a tribute

It became a tradition among my girlfriends and I to get together Wednesday nights with our favorite bottle of wine and enjoy each others' company.  As the weeks passed by, the tradition was deemed "Wine Wednesday."  Being that I'm two hours away from each of them these days, we've transferred the tradition to my new city as well.  My love for wine starts at the very basics.  I'm not part of any wine club, nor do I have my own wine cellar ({my parents just remodeled theirs and it is INSANELY gorgeous, will do a post on that in the future}), but one thing I do know is what tastes good.  Since I frequent Trader Joe's so much, I have gotten to love their selection. My personal favorites are Venetian Moon (a nice dry pinot grigio), Velvet Moon (a smooth cabernet sauvignon) (The "Moon" wines are really good), and a new one we decided to try was Sugar Pie, a red wine blend of grapes that has hints of blackberries and brown sugar cinnamon-spice.  We pair our wines with Wheat Pita Chips, Brie cheese, and my new fave, Triple Cream Le Delice De Bourgogne Cheese.  Enjoy.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Christmas is by far my favorite time of the year.  People are generally nicer, the holiday soundtrack puts a smile to my face, the streets are lined with charming decorations, and the weather makes you want to stay in and cuddle.  Last night, my husband and I decorated together for the first time in our new home, and I must say...nothing could be better than decorating the tree with Christmas music in the background, red wine within grabbing distance, Home Alone 2 tivo-ed and ready to go; and Trader Joe's snowflake mint cookies.  The evening was perfect.

Shoe Forecast : Azzedine Alaia & Valentino

I have always been a sucker for a hot shoe. I'm really very particular about my heel height (nothing under 3 inches is acceptable for me...i'll just wear flats then); the distance between the heel and the ball of the foot is crucial as well. The steepness between the two is what makes the shoe drool-worthy. That being said, 2011 was a great year for Azzedine Alaia and Valentino. The Rockstud collection by Valentino was absolutely genious. Lets recap:
